To maintain a high professional standard for the spa industry and ensure that
members are committed to delivery of these standards, the Spa Association
Singapore has established the Spa Accreditation Program since Year 2002.
An accredited spa is recognised by the authorities in Singapore as having met
the industry standards and practices. For the public community, an accredited
spa provides the assurance of professionalism and commitment to high standards.
The pre-qualifying assessment is to ascertain whether you satisfy the general
definition of a spa:
Facility & Equipment
Your venue must
have a well planned layout with due consideration to privacy, safety, hygiene
etc. You must have a hydro-therapy facility.
Services
You should provide a variety of
services, which include the following:
- Massage
- Aroma-therapy
- Hydro-therapy
- Beauty therapy
- Body wrap and body scrub
- Sales of related products.
Total Health & Wellness
You may also
provide total health and wellness services, which may include:
- Dietary and nutrition advice
- Wellness screening
- Slimming services

How To Get Your Spa Accredited
- Apply for Ordinary Membership with the Spa Association
- A non-refundable assessment fee of S$800 for the first location and S$600
for each subsequent locations is payable to carry out the assessment for your
spa outlets
- Our appointed assessor will visit your venue and meet with you and your
team
- Upon passing the Accreditation Program, your spa outlet will be admitted
as Ordinary Member and this Accreditation status will be valid for a maximum
of two years. Our next Accreditation program is valid from 1 January 2009 to
31 December 2010
- Upon successful fulfillment of the Spa Accreditation Program, you will be
issued with a Certificate of Accreditation
- You will be listed as an Accredited Spa in all marketing communication
materials
- You will be required to participate in the renewal of the Accreditation
status at the end of the 2 years’ validity in order to renew your membership
with the Association
