Spa Association Singapore

The Spa Association was officially formed in October 1998 with the support of the Singapore Tourism Board.

Its objectives were:

Establish and uphold standards of practices in the spa industry
Promote networking opportunities within the industry and international bodies
Encourage the advancement in the education and professional standards amongst members
Serve as the official liaison with various government bodies, such as licencing authority for the benefits of the members
Promote the benefits and value of spa experience

A team of Executive Committee is elected once every two years to spearhead initiatives and developments in the industry.

**Mr. Peter Sng was the President of SAS from 1998 -2008 and currently serves as the Honorary Adviser of SAS. During his term, SAS had successfully achieved differentiation of its members to other massage establishment outlets and are thus accorded the premium status associated with the SAS brand. SAS had also successfully promoted self-regulation in the industry and obtained exemption from medical health screening. The self-regulation then promoted professionalism in the industry and the public were then assured that SAS members steered clear of vice activities.
